Patrick David Hunt or simple “Pat” to his friends and family, was born on December 4, 1947 in Wickford, RI, the son of Robert Foster and Eileen Marie (Foreman) Hunt. Pat valued education and hard work. He earned his master’s degree and built a successful career as a telecommunications developer with Cisco Systems, Inc. He took pride in his work and the contributions he made in the world of technology.
Pat’s life began by the sea, and the ocean always held a special place in his heart. As a boy and young man, he loved sailing and body surfing along the shores of Rhode Island. Some of his fondest memories were going with his dad during Christmastime, wading into the cold ocean waters to gather and enjoy raw clams straight from the sea — simple moments that became treasured traditions.
Later in life, Pat married the love of his life, Cosetta — or as he affectionately called her, “CZ.” It was the desire of his heart to be a good husband and to take care of her. He felt deeply blessed not only to love her, but to be welcomed as part of her family, whom he cherished as his own. Together they moved to the quiet country life in Bunch, where Pat embraced simple joys. He liked taking gator rides through the woods, exploring nature, and walking their dog, Sadie. He loved family holiday gatherings filled with laughter and togetherness. Pat would happily take his wife and their beloved “hoodlebockers” dogs into town for a cheeseburger, spend afternoons “junkin’” at local junk stores, and delighted in picking out what he called “play clothes” for CZ — especially a good pair of overalls. Pat had a gift for conversation. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and genuinely loved people. His warmth and friendliness made strangers feel like old friends.
His faith was the foundation of his life. Pat attended Bunch Assembly of God Church, where he faithfully played the bass guitar and enjoyed fiddle classes with his church family — whom he truly considered family. He read his Bible regularly, dedicating time to study and research Scripture, always seeking deeper understanding and a closer walk with the Lord. On Friday, February 13, 2026, he entered the gates of Glory to meet his Lord and Savior. He was 78 years old; his life was marked by love — love for his wife, his family, his church, and for everyone he met.
He leaves behind his wife, Cosetta Hunt of the home, as well as many other family, church family, cherished friends, and a legacy of kindness, faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
A celebration of his life will occur on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 10:00 am at First Assembly of God Church in Bunch with his brother-in-law, Pastor Frank Loyd officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Bunch Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers include Alan Loyd, Mark Vance, Gary Long, and Ronnie Loyd.
