

Phillip Daine Gordon, or Daine to his family and friends, was born on August 15th, 1950 in Hutchison, KS, the son of Warren Phillip and Alene Jewel (Starnes) Gordon. He grew up with one brother and one sister, Stephen and Terri. The family relocated to Roseburg, OR, then to the town of North Bend, where he graduated from high school. The family would then move to Roseburg again and finally settle in Canby, OR, where he and Mary raised their family. He relocated to the Vancouver, WA area and went to work for the Thompson Metal Fabricators as one of the Metal Workers, and remained with this company all of his working life. On October 22nd, 1969, he married the mother of his children, Mary LaVonne Young and they raised a family of two sons and one daughter, Travis, Trevor and Melissa. When he wasn’t working, he loved to ride dirt bikes, especially Yamaha’s. He never skipped the chance to go to the river to do a little boating, camping and fishing for salmon and trout. He liked to tinker on cars and trucks, often in the company of his canine companions, Maggie, Annie and Rosie, and his feline friends, Tiger, Rascal and Smokey. He possessed a stubborn streak, and liked keeping things in order. He adored his family and never lost the chance to spend time with his grandchildren. He was proud of his Cherokee Heritage, and loved the area around Tahlequah. He liked the view from his own porch and appreciated the simple things in life. Daine passed from this life on October 28th, 2022 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 72 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, James Carson and Minnie Lee (Byrd) Gordon and maternal grandparents, Boyd and Stella (Eldridge) Starnes. He also joins his mother and father as well as his sister, Terri Ellington.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary LaVonne Young-Gordon and their children, Travis Gordon and companion Andrea Feleciano of Mesa, AZ, Trevor Gordon and wife Jennifer of Mollala, OR and Melissa Rash and husband Snoor of Broken Arrow, OK. He leaves one brother, Stephen Gordon of Roseburg, OR. He lives on in his eight grandchildren, Tyler Gordon and wife Maddison of Portland,OR, Jacob Gordon of Mollala, OR, McKenzee Gordon of Mesa, AZ, Zackery Gordon of Canby,OK, Cameron Gordon of Chandler, AZ, Katie Gordon of Mollala, OR, Sarah Rash pf Broken Arrow, OK, and Safeen Rash also of broken Arrow, OK. He also leaves one great grandson, Trevor Gordon of Portland, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousin and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
