Alan Ray Westcott, 84, passed away on January 10, 2016.He was born in Miami, Florida on January 15, 1931, and proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1951-59. Alan was an avid sailor and loved racing his sailboat out on Biscayne Bay. He was a longtime member of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and served as its Commodore in 1980-81. Alan is survived by his son, David Westcott and his wife, Robin; granddaughter, Amanda Westcott; and grandson, Daniel Westcott; all of Tallahassee, Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Westcott and brother Kirk Westcott.A Memorial Service honoring Alan will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Wildwood Church, 100 Ox Bottom Road, Tallahassee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Wildwood Church or Big Bend Hospice.
