

Ann Marie Stevens passed away on September 2, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born June 23, 1946 in Baker, Montana, to Rollin Revillo Stevens and Hazel Angela (Tharp) Stevens. Her family moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where Ann lived most of her life. After college, Ann also earned a Master’s degree and in 1981 was awarded her Ph.D. in Child Development from Florida State University. Professionally, Ann worked as a care giver and educator of young children and retired after a career with Sears Roebuck and Company.
Ann was raised in the Presbyterian faith and was a longtime member of the Deborah Circle women's group at First Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee. She was Vice-President of the Tallahassee Area Rose Society and rose show chairman. She won many blue ribbons at rose shows. She was the recipient of the American Rose Society Bronze Medal for outstanding service. Ann spent years as a devoted volunteer at Goodwood Museum and Gardens where she made many good friends. She was a recognized expert in the propagation of old garden roses. Her creative talents were also evident in Ann's art projects in many different mediums, painted beautifully for her own enjoyment or designed as gifts for special friends, in her original poetry and writing, illustrating and publishing a children's book.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, and leaves two cousins and many friends to mourn her passing. A gathering of friends will be held on Friday morning, October 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Jubilee Cottage, Goodwood Museum and Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee.
