

Mrs. Bernice Mary Warren Harley of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away at the age of 92 on May 6, 2016. She was born in Pensacola, Florida on June 4, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Ms. Mary Warren. She graduated in 1943 from Washington High School in Pensacola and went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). She retired from a career in Payroll Management at FAMU after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the Co-Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Tallahassee and had a passion for the Roman Catholic Church, big band music, Sarah Vaughn music, tunes from the 1950s, western movies and game shows. She also was an avid dog lover and was the owner of several pets (Chip, Tiger, Lucky and Chi Chi).
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Mary Warren; her brother, Mr. Bernard Stephens Robinson and husbands, Dr. Millard C. Williams and Staff Sergeant (retired) Ulysses Harley.
Left behind to cherish Mrs. Harley’s memory are her sons, Mr. Milliard C. Williams (Costell) and Mr. Ralph B. Williams, Sr. (Jannie); her grandchildren: Milton C. Williams, Marcie C. Alexander, Mildretta C. Williams, Chiesa W. Hughey (Terrance), Ralph B. Williams, Jr. (Donjanea); great-grandchildren: Deja M. Alexander, Rodriquiz Alexander II, Deanthony Young-Williams, Christian I. Hughey and Eva M. Williams; and devoted friend, Ms. Audrey Kelker Davis.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday (5/11) at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday (5/12/16) at Blessed Sacrament Church, 624 Miccosukee Road Tallahassee, FL 32308.
