Bettie Lou Warner Henningsen

The beloved wife and mother of four, was born on February 4, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alma Warner.

Bettie attended elementary and high school in Chicago and went on to earn a degree from the Chicago Art Institute. A short time later she met, Danish immigrant, Paul Kilian Henningsen. They were married in 1959 and honeymooned in Honolulu, Hawaii. The couple stayed in Illinois until 1974 when they moved to Tallahassee, Florida where they have resided ever since.

Bettie was a faithful member of her church and an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family and attending the many activities and events of her grandchildren.

Bettie is survived by her husband, Paul, her sister, Billie Arendt and niece, Jennifer Arendt of Tallahassee; daughter, Robin Henningsen-Bruce of Orlando; daughter, Karen Gorman; son, Shawn Henningsen (Tracy); and son, John Henningsen (Stephanie) all of Tallahassee; seven grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Thursday, July 21, 2011 in Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel, 700 Timberlane Road. Family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until the service hour.
