Bill Kelly

Bill was born to Hurtis Kelly and Nola Chitty Kelly on June 28, 1942, in Holmes County, Florida. He passed away on July 7, 2025. He is preceded in death by both parents and his only brother, Bob Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Kathryn “Kay” Miller Kelly, his son Billy Kelly (Trish Kelly), his daughter Amy Kelly Dice (Vernon Dice), grandchildren Kyle Shank (Morgan Shank), Dillon Riley (Courtney Riley), Cody Kelly (Victoria Kelly), and 5 great grandchildren Wyatt, Everett, Sadie, Ryleigh, and Dalton, with #6 on the way.

Bill moved with his parents and brother to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1957, where he met the “love-of-his-life,” Kathryn. In February 1958, they had their first date. In 1959, Bill moved back to Chipley, Florida with his parents and lived there for 2 years. During those 2 years he drove up and down US Hwy 19 to visit Kathryn. In 1961, Bill and his family moved back to St. Petersburg and in November 1962, he and Kathryn married.

In 1975, Bill and Kay moved their family to Tallahassee. In 1978, he co-founded Kelly Brothers Sheet Metal, Inc., with his brother Bob. After his retirement in 2009, Bill and Kay spent their retirement having a wonderful time traveling around the Country on many wonderful vacations in their motorhome, eventually building a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, which he loved. Their family had many wonderful times.

He was a special man who loved his family and worked very hard to provide a wonderful life for them. He will be deeply missed by his family.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5 Pm to 7 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Culley’s Timberlane (700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida).

Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 11, 2025, at Culley’s Timberlane, with interment to follow in the Roselawn Cemetery.
