Blair M. James

Blair Myrick James, 95, passed away at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee, FL on November 24, 2021. Blair was born in Littleton, NC to Walter Blair and Eva Glasgow Myrick on January 28, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John Alfred James of Weldon, NC. She was also preceded in death by her only brother, James Egerton Myrick. Blair was a graduate of the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina in 1947 with a degree in Secretarial Administration and worked several years in that field. After raising a family in Weldon, NC, she moved to Westminster Oaks in 2003. She is survived by one daughter, Frances James Fincham (Frank), and two sons, John Alfred James, Jr. (Betsey), and William Myrick James (Angela). The joy of her later years was watching her grandchildren grow up. Blair’s grandchildren are Charlotte Homme, Jack James, Michael Homme, Kate James, Sarah James, Alice James, and Reid James. A memorial service will be held in Frances Chapel at Westminster Oaks. Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Oaks Foundation, Mercy Fund or to Weldon Baptist Church, Weldon NC.
