

Brooks McCollum was born November 9, 1949 in Meridian MS. He was a well known for his talent in the culinary arts. Honorably served as an Army Medic in the Vietnam War and earned two purple hearts as a result of his heroic actions.
Brooks McCollum was predeceased by his father Alex (Julius) McCollum, Meridian Ms. and his daughter Shannon McCollum Corpus Christi TX. Brooks is survived by his mother, Edna McCollum of Meridian MS, children Kimberly Lynn Burke of Merritt Island FL and Blaine Garrett McCollum of New York NY, grandchildren Alexander Mathew (Alex) Burke, Shannon Lynn Burke, Belle Louise Burke, and Rebecca Dianne (Becka) Burke, sisters Nona Jeannie Switzer (Paul) Meridian MS and Erie Nell Tedder (Keith) Tallahassee FL, brother Alex Randolph (Randy) McCollum Jr. (Dona) Cuthbert GA, honored “brother” and friend Lewis Blivens Tallahassee FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday October 19, 2012 at the Reach Out Ministry of Hope Church, 8901 Woodville Hwy, Tallahassee (Woodville), FL 32305-1607.
