Cecilia was born on December 7, 1935, in San Antonio, TX. She was the youngest of six children born to Max and Josephine Seidenschnur.
Cecilia's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for the things that brought her joy. She was an avid tennis player for much of her adult life and a gifted writer, with her works published in TCC’s Eyrie. She always dreamed of writing about her family in the form of a novel, a testament to her love of history, writing and reading.
Cecilia was the cornerstone of her family, creating a stable, loving home and always making holidays unforgettable with thoughtful meals, decorations, and special moments. Known for her strong will and attention to detail, she always aimed for perfection in her appearance, home, and family.
Though she carried the loss of her husband, Jerry, for 23 years, a part of her remained missing. She channeled her love into her children and grandchildren, demonstrating unmatched strength and dedication, leaving an indelible mark. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Stephens, and son, Robert Kevin Stephens. She is survived by her children, Susan (Allan) Hult, Robert (Nora), and Sarah Stephens; grandchildren, Nicholas and Christina Nicou, Drew and Nathan Zimmerman, and Grace and Rory Stephens; sister, Joyce Despres (son Michael); and nieces, Theresa Harrison and Patsy Haraminac.
A private memorial service will be held for her family and closest friends.
We deeply appreciate the kindness, patience, and companionship offered by all the wonderful caregivers in Cecilia's life, especially Lesa, Mandy, and Alyssa.
