

Cheryl Bartell, 65, passed away Tuesday morning, February 26, 2013 in Tallahassee, FL.
Born in Columbus, OH on May 03, 1947 as Cheryl Elizabeth Fouty, she spent her youth in Columbus, making frequent trips to Florida by train to visit her grandparents. Eventually, the sunshine was too big of a draw and her family relocated to Jacksonville, FL.
While attending Fletcher High School, she met the love of her life, Ray. They were married on December 10, 1966 and started their family with their first born son Raymond on November 10, 1970. After the birth of their second son Matthew in 1977, Cheryl and Ray moved to Tallahassee, which was to become her home for the next 35 years. While in Tallahassee, she raised a family, was active in area churches and the Tallahassee Garden Club where she won multiple awards for her flower arrangements.
A faithful, talented and blessed woman, she held strong in her faith in Jesus Christ ever since she was born again on January 11, 1977.
Her legacy is maintained by her husband of 46 years, Raymond George, two sons Raymond Richard and Matthew Christopher, four granddaughters Jorann Elizabeth, Caitlin Morgan, Hailey Madison and Autumn Jane, a brother Michael Fouty and two “daughters in love”, Chantell Elizabeth and Becky Jean.
Accomplishments: Wife, Mother, Grandmother. 1965 Sterling Silver Award (Jacksonville), Tallahassee Garden Club Chairwoman, 1987 Tallahassee Democrat/ Leon County Volunteer of the Year.
Affiliations: John Wesley Methodist Church (’77-’83), Celebration Baptist Church (’83-’97), Anchor Baptist Church (’97-’13), Tallahassee Garden Club (’77-’13), Bereans Bible Study (’90-’13), Capital City Classic Chevy Club, Antique Car Club.
A memorial service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held on Friday, March 1 at 11:00am at Culley's MeadowWood, 700 Timberlane Road.
