He was born Dec. 17, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Clifton “Howard” Canter, Sr. and Loretta (Pat) Eyers Canter. He graduated from LPHS in 1968 and attended St. Pete Jr. College.
Chris was previously co-owner of Pure Lead Products, Inc., a co-developer of a welding patent, later owner of an automotive parts recycling and scrap metal businesses. His interests and passions included family, gardening, fishing, feeding and watching birds, and reading.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clif, Steve, and Phillip Canter. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vicki Milliron Canter; daughter, Lori Yanisky (Diego) of Tallahassee, FL; son Christopher L. Canter, Jr. (Angela) of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Colton and Jackson; sister in laws, Phyllis and Bonnie Canter, and many nieces.
At this time there will be no service, but a memorial will be in the near future.
