Constance S. Taylor, 93, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born in Sag Harbor, NY on September 24, 1932, to Angelo and Concetta Schiavoni. A graduate of Pierson High School and SUNY New Paltz, Connie taught elementary and middle school on Long Island. Before having her own children, she delighted in being an aunt, creating lasting memories of story times and ice cream. During summer classes in Columbia, SC, Connie met her future husband, William Taylor. Connie and Bill raised their family first in Tallahassee, then in Tampa, Florida, ultimately returning to Tallahassee in 1995. In later years Connie enjoyed gardening, volunteering at her church, playing hostess to numerous family holidays and birthday celebrations, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her daughter Kate Stratton, son Jon Taylor (Jenn), grandchildren Emma (Matthew), Will, Isabelle, Nathan, and Benjamin, sisters-in-law Vickie Schiavoni and Doris Schiavoni, and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Connie’s family is very grateful for the love, care, and compassion shown to her by the staff at the Villas at Killearn Lakes. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, in Tallahassee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Wildlife Refuge, the Leon County Humane Society, Open Door Women’s Clinic, or to the National Parks Conservation Association.
