
He was born on April 16, 1955 in Tallahassee, FL to Margaret Stegall Sawyer and Wilburn Douglas Sawyer, Jr. From them, he learned a love of the world, a respect for his fellow man and a desire to make a difference for the better.
He graduated from Rickards High, where he found a joy in performing and singing, especially with his Quartet and their favorite, "Draft Dodger Rag".
David was an Eagle Scout, a Sea Scout QuarterMaster, an Air Force Veteran, a licensed scuba diver and a black belt in karate. He previously served for several years with the Tallahassee Jaycee's, honoring a legacy of community service.
He loved chicken gizzards, Rocky Mountain oysters and unsweet tea. He insisted on manners and courtesy.
He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Ava & Al Davis; his three children, Megan, Rachel & Jordan; eight grandchildren; in-laws; outlaws and his beloved dog, Loki.
He will be deeply missed.
