

Dianne was born on July 24, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Roy and Wanda Hafley. She graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Marine) in May of 1975. She then pursued a career in computer technology to obtain various certifications and training in system analysis and design. Dianne was married to Joseph Reynolds Dalby on January 6, 2006, and together they resided in Falls Church, Virginia until they moved their home to Tallahassee, Florida on July 3, 2024.
Dianne’s career as a systems analysis spanned many years. Starting in 1979, she worked for several government agencies in Tallahassee and the Computer Task Group in Tampa. She relocated to Northern Virginia where she continued her career as a systems analysis for various federal government agencies and corporations. She retired from the Fairfax County Government after more than 23 years on December 23, 2023.
Dianne was a devoted wife, and her loves were her Lord, family, pets, friends, and nature. She had many interests and hobbies. She was an accomplished artist and piano player. Stained glass, drawing, painting, and jewelry making were just some of her talents. She was an assistant scuba diver instructor and her love for the ocean and all its creatures knew no bounds.
Dianne had a big heart for serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her strong and unwavering faith carried her through her illness until the end. She demonstrated her ultimate faith when facing her certain death by saying “God will either heal me here or He will heal me in Heaven.”
She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Dalby, brother Rodney Hafley, Aunts Sue West, Linda Hickson, Uncle Paul Mayfield, and many first cousins.
A memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel TLH, 8614 Mahan Dr. Tallahassee Fl, 32309, on Saturday December 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
