

Dr. Donald C. Swedmark, born September 26, 1930, of Tallahassee, FL moved to Heaven on January, 6th, 2020. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 35 years, Mara Frances Ingram Swedmark; his son, Lance C. Swedmark; his daughter in love, Lea Ann Swedmark and also by his loving daughters, Robin Maples and Melodee Maples Bartlett.
Dr. Swedmark was born and raised in Bemidji Minnesota and has been a resident of Tallahassee since 1965.
He served in the United States Air Force in Korea in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nation Service Medal, the National Defense Medal and Battle Stars.
After his honorable discharge, Dr. Swedmark obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State Teachers College, a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Dakota, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Iowa. Dr. Swedmark was a professor of Business Administration and Accounting at several universities including Florida State University, Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University, Western Washington University, University of Iowa and Bemidji State Teachers College.
Dr. Swedmark was an avid outdoorsman. He bred, raised and raced thoroughbred and quarter horses. He was also an investor and realtor. Dr. and Mrs. Swedmark owned and operated MaraDon Farms located in the Chaires Community of Tallahassee, FL.
Dr. Swedmark will be interred at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to your local disabled veteran’s charity of your choosing.
