Dorothy S. "Dot" Hyde, age 80, was called home by the Lord on September 20, 2016, surrounded by many loved ones. Born January 3, 1936 in Tallahassee, she graduated from Leon High School, married the love of her life, Milton Hyde, raised three children and retired from Centel/Sprint after 40 years of employment as a telephone operator. Dot was a faithful, life-time member of Lakeview Baptist Church, a friend to many and completely devoted to her family.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Hyde, her parents, John E. and Maggie Sullivan, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one sister, Geraldine Gilbert; her three cherished children, Cynthia Hyde, Judy Messer and Joe Hyde (Kaye); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL. There will be a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 222 West 7th Avenue, Tallahassee, FL.
