Although Ede was born in Chicago, IL, she and her sisters grew up in western New York. She moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, where she earned a Masters of Science in Guidance and Counseling. During that time she was also head resident (house counselor) at The Pilot House. She was deeply appreciative of the many women she knew there who kept in touch with her across the years.
She also met her future husband (Jess Wilson) while at FSU. They enjoyed 44 years together prior to his death in 2010. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning (with many award-winning entries at the North Florida Fair), working with her husband in various Lions Club activities, and spending time at their “Sugar Shack” beach house in Grayton Beach.
Ede was preceded in death by her husband Jess E. Wilson, and by her sisters Virginia Grace Fuller (William) Nudd, Carol Jane Fuller (Charles) Hardy, and Arline Ruth Fuller.
Surviving family members include her step-son Richard J. Wilson (Joan) of Tallahassee, FL, his sons Christopher J. Wilson (Allison) and his family (Palm Bay, FL), and Michael R. Wilson (Laurie) and his family (Knoxville, TN). Richard also has an aunt (Montine Wilson) and numerous cousins and their families who loved Ede greatly.
Surviving family also include the following nieces and nephews: Dorothy Arline Nudd (James Robert) Conner and her family (Lynchburg VA), David Robert (Vicki Hoard) Nudd (Brant, NY), Charlynn Hardy (David Bruce) Lloret and her family (Portland, NY), Charles Wellington “Chip” (Michele) Hardy III, and his family (Easly, SC), and Sandra “Sandy” Hardy (Lawrence) Ledden and her family (Seymour, MO).
All extend their grateful appreciation to the management and staff of The Grove at Canopy. They gave her abundant loving care and attention throughout her stay, but especially during her time in Assisted Living and the Memory Care unit.
