She was born in Homerville, Georgia on March 9, 1937. Dee graduated from Leon High School in Tallahassee. She was married to William “Bill” Dalton on April 11, 1964.
Dee worked for the State of Florida, Department of Education and held administrative assistant positions at some of the churches she attended.
She was a member of Freedom Church in Tallahassee and had a passion for people and taking care of her family. She enjoyed being a greeter on Sunday mornings at church. She was an avid candy maker. Her divinity and fudge were enjoyed over the years by family and friends.
Dee is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughter, Sheryl D. Hicks; and son-in-law, Ralph E. Hicks, Jr.; her granddaughter, Susannah; her sisters, JoAnn Maddox and Helen Brown; and a brother, David Harper.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road in Tallahassee.
