Elwood John Hein, born August 3, 1928 in Springfield, Illinois died peacefully August 30, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army and was a founding member of Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville, Alabama.
He is survived by his three children, Gretchen Hein of Tallahassee, Florida; Woody Hein of Marietta, Georgia; Sheryl Hepler of North East, Maryland; and son-in-law Daniel Champagne of New Market, Alabama and their families which include 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Corrine Lou Hein and his daughter Deborah Kay Champagne.
Viewing will be held at Guntersville Memorial Chapel, Guntersville, Alabama Tuesday, September 3, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Albertville, Alabama. Internment service for family will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery following the church service.
