

Emma Lea Bruce went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the Margaret Dozier Hospice House in Tallahassee, Florida.
She was born on September 25, 1922, in Pavo, Georgia, to the late James F. and Scrappie Simmons Williams.
The home-going celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6th at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Romans officiating. Interment will follow at the New Hope Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 5th, at New Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bruce was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was retired from the State of Florida, Department of Labor. She loved her Lord, her church, her family and her many friends. She loved to cook and one of her greatest joys was to share that with others—especially family and the church youth. Also an accomplished seamstress, she loved sewing for her family.
She leaves behind, to carry on her legacy of faith and love, her children, Larry and Sue Bruce of Medart, William “Bill” Bruce and Kathy and Danny Romans of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Marty and Karen Criswell, Cynthia Bruce, Richie and Millie Bruce, Laurie and Paul Arnaldo, and Christie Hogan; and great-grandchildren, Kelly and Tucker Criswell, Austin and Abbie Hogan, Gracie, Wilson, Gaby and Sam Bruce, and Jacob and Emma Arnaldo; and a host of nieces and nephews and many good friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Samuel R. Bruce; her sisters Leo (and Lewis) Fort, Grace (and Charlie) Allen, Nell (and Fred) Stiles; her brothers Horace (and Thelma) Williams and James Williams.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
