Dr. Eric Todd Nicholson

A native of Birmingham, AL and son of the late Dr. James Nicholson and Jeanette Elmore Nicholson, Eric graduated from Birmingham Southern College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and graduated in 1991. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in infectious disease at University of Florida in 1996. During those years, he met and married Julie Leano in 1994. He has since been busy with his medical/infectious disease practice, research, and teaching. Initially started in Fairhope, AL in 1996 he then moved to Tallahassee in 1998. In total, he practiced infectious disease for 19 years.

Dr. Eric Nicholson was affiliated with Capital Regional Medical Center, Capital Medical Society, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, and Florida State University. He devoted time to different committees for improving patient care. He loved boating and fishing. He was a diehard University of Alabama football supporter. He was a loving father, enjoying his son's baseball and daughter's tennis.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years Julie Nicholson, daughter Paige J. Nicholson, & son Christian A. Nicholson all of Tallahassee, FL; mother Jeanette Elmore Nicholson, sister Julie Nicholson Brown & brother-in-law Judge Quentin Brown, all of Birmingham, AL; father- and mother-in-law Dr. Paul & Cresita Leano, brother- and sister-in-law Ervin & JoAnn Hunter, brother- and sister-in-law Jerry & Louisa Dowling all of Tallahassee, FL and brother-in-law Don Leano & fiancé Lailyn Burnett of Atlanta, GA. He had several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to join a rosary prayer at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, FL on Monday, May 4, starting at 1:30 pm. There will be a Mass following at 2:00 pm and a reception thereafter.
