Fred W. Lawson went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2012.
A visitation will be held at Thomasville Road Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 9th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Reverend Curtis Clark will officiate.
Fred was born in Crisfield, Maryland on March 9, 1925. Fred served his country for 28 years in The United States Navy, and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1976. He was a longtime resident of Tallahassee and an active member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Fred is survived by his wife, Millie O. Lawson; three children, Stephen Lawson of Barnesville, NC, Wesley Lawson of Waynesboro, GA, and Debbi Taylor of Niantic, CT; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
Fred will be missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
