
Gabriel Mazzeo, Jr. 71, of Quincy, Florida passed September 28, 2014. Gabriel, a loving husband, father and grandfather is survived by his wife Joyce Hilliard-Mazzeo, his brother Frank Mazzeo, his children, Keith Holland and his wife, Kieran, of Tallahassee, FL, Robin Ridley and her husband, Richard, of Crawfordville, FL, Rion Hilliard and his wife, Sheena, of Edgewater, FL, Jack Hubmann and his wife, Bonnie, of Tallahassee, FL, his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Gabe served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in Air Traffic Control from 1962 to 1966. He received his Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University. After serving as General Counsel for the Florida Keys Community Hospital, Gabe moved to Tallahassee where he spent 25 years in the Executive Branch of state government, retiring as the Chief Attorney for the Department of Insurance.
After retirement, Gabe and Joyce satisfied their sense of adventure by travelling across the United States and Europe, bringing family along more often than not to share in the excitement. A true family man in every sense of the word, he will be greatly missed but has left us that knew and loved him with many wonderful memories.
In accordance with Gabe’s wishes a private memorial service will be held.
