Hazel was born and raised in Rome, New York, attending college in Syracuse, New York and working as a registered nurse, remaining in Syracuse for her brief career. She left her beloved profession in the 1950’s to raise a family after marrying Charles Bayne in 1956. “Charlie” Bayne served in both the Army and Air Force, moving the family from various countries and locations, settling down in Northwest Florida in 1966. The family moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1976, where Hazel and Charlie remained for the rest of their lives. They raised two children, Brian and Patrick, who married and extended the family to five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
After Brian and Patrick married and started their own families, Hazel dedicated her life to the church and charity work, focusing on the poor and homeless as a volunteer for Catholic Social Services and Echo. She had a passion for reading and had many close friends through the years, all drawn to her energy and spirit.
Charlie passed in 2014 and even as her health and memory began to fail at her late age, she was still active and social.
Her passing was peaceful, the natural end to a beautiful life, as Hazel is now united with her Lord and Savior.
The family will hold a private interment at a later date.
