James Edward Anderson, Sr., 60 of Tallahassee, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home. James was born May 23, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Harold Bruce Anderson and Frances Yabs and moved to Tallahassee in 1998 coming from Lakeland, Florida. James is a United States Army Veteran who served his country in Vietnam. It was there that he received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. James is a member of the Tallahassee American Legion Post, the National Rifle Association and AARP. He is survived by his life-long companion, Wendy Buckley of Tallahassee; his son, James Anderson, Jr. of Georgia; his daughter, Candi (Tim ) Gannon of Wauchula, FL; his brother, Dave (Jan) Anderson of Muskegon, MI; his step-brother, Jeff (Lisa Nahoom) Deas of Tallahassee; his grandchildren, Megan and Joshua Gannon of Wauchula, FL; his nephews, Brad Anderson of Cape Coral, FL, Nate Anderson of Jackson, MI and Josh Anderson of Muskegon, MI and his niece, Rebecca Anderson of Muskegon, MI. Funeral services will be held privately at a later date. Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
