Jerry T. Hicks

Jerry was born February 23, 1936 in Thomasville, GA. He was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of Florida State University. Jerry retired as a Superintendent with the Florida Dept. of Corrections. His hobbies included fishing, camping and cheering on the Seminoles. He and his wife Martha did extensive traveling throughout the US after his retirement.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Martha Purvis Hicks; two sons Wayne and wife Tara of Hickory, NC; Keith and wife Deidre of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter Debbie Pitts and husband Mike of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters Dorothy Beaty and husband Larry of Barwick, GA; Mary Jean Venable of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

The Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, January 22 at Canopy Roads Baptist Church, 925 Bannerman Road, Tallahassee, where he was a member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice at 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
