Joan Michele Losiewicz

Joan was born in Utica, NY on May 19, 1946. She was raised in upstate New York and graduated from New Hartford Central School, New Hartford, N.Y.

Following high school graduation, Joan attended college while raising her two boys and obtained her Masters degree in Psychology from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida.

Joan was a world traveler and visited six of the seven continents. She enjoyed a life of adventure and had a passion for helping animals and people in need.

Joan worked for Seminole State College for six years and then dedicated 29 years to the State of Florida’s Workforce Innovation Program where she received numerous awards and achievements. After 35 years of a successful career, Joan retired and enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family. She loved her family; especially her grandbabies.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband Richard O’Mara and parents Henry and Elizabeth Losiewicz

She is survived by her sons Eric Peddicord (Jennifer) and David Bolt (Leah); five grandchildren Clare Bolt, Sydney Peddicord, McKenna Peddicord, Kieran Compagnone and Kelsey Compagnone; two brothers Lawrence Losiewicz (Sandra) and Edwin Losiewicz (Patricia); and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church in Tallahassee with a graveside service at Oakfield Cemetery in Monticello, Florida.
