

John Hilton Pappion, 63, departed this life on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 6:30 am in Auburn, Alabama. He was born to the union of John B. (deceased) and Annie Pappion. John was born June 14, 1954 in Lake Charles, La. He lived many places, both in the United States and overseas due to his extensive 24 year military service in the United States Air Force. Upon retirement, he worked as a Tactical Officer at Lyman Ward Military Academy. Upon leaving Lyman Ward Military Academy, he went to work for Russell Corporation. John was an active member of the volunteer fire department as a fireman, in both Colorado and Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Wyndolyn Curtis Pappion of Camp Hill, Alabama; a daughter, Tiffany (Trevino) Pappion Williams of Tallahassee, Florida; a son, John B. (Shenika) Pappion II of Alexander City, Alabama; two brothers, James (Linda) Pappion of Virginia, and Patrick (Shirley) Pappion of North Carolina; two sisters, Judy (Bernard) Foy of North Carolina and Petronilla (Jerome) Neal of Louisiana. His six (6) grandchildren; Jade Nicolette of Albany, Georgia, Trevino Abdul II, and Tadric Ahsam Williams of Tallahassee Florida, and Jamarion Rashad, Sariah Mechelle, and John Batiste III, Pappion of Alexander City, Alabama. He also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephew, great-nieces, great-nephew, other relatives and friends.
The Pappion family will receive friends at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home – 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee on Friday October 27, 2017 from 6-8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas Moore – 900 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee.
“There was always a running joke that J.B. and I would take you to feed the ducks, and now you get to retire in your favorite place and feed the ducks just like we always said. We love you daddy.”
