Josephine Balliet Schroeder

She was born on November 23, 1928 and was the only child of Francis and Joe Balliet. She developed a lifelong fondness for gardening and sewing. Josephine attended high school in Donalsonville, Georgia, before studying home economics at Georgia State Women’s College at Valdosta. Josephine then continued her education at the University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She worked at Dillard’s Department Store in Tallahassee until her retirement.

Josephine was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles W. Doolittle, and second husband, Dale Schroeder. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Doolittle Lawrence; son, Charles William Doolittle, Jr.; her granddaughters, Holly Roberts and Emily Houghton; and great grandchildren, Will Roberts, John Roberts, Drew Roberts, Aiden Houghton, Libby Houghton and Naomi Houghton.

A public visitation for Josephine will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, 4037 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida.
