Kathy was born March 22, 1927, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was married to Bill Barnett for 71 years with 25 years as a Navy wife during the Korean, Vietnam Wars, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. During that time she lived in the Philippines, the island of Guam, and visits to China and Japan. She was a member of the Timberlane Church of Christ since it was opened and loved her church family. She loved her grandchildren, home in Asbury Hill, playing bridge, singing and painting.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Kate Lynch, her brothers: Jim, John, Lewis and Robert; and her sisters: Mary, Martha, and Charlene. Kathy is survived by her husband Bill Barnett, her children: Steven Barnett and Susan Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Ellen Frede Barnett; son in-law, Matthew Gilbert; and her grandchildren: Perry Gilbert and Andrew Barnett-Guo and their spouses Rebecca Gilbert and April Barnett-Guo.
