Kathleen Rose "Kathy" Turley

Kathy passed away at her home in Panama City Beach, Florida, on Friday, September 16, 2011. Kathy fought a brave fight against cancer the past two years; and a special thanks to her team of doctors and Sacred Heart Hospital of Emerald Coast.

Kathy was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 12, 1946 where she attended Central Catholic HS and Lourdes College where she earned a degree in Business. Kathy worked for 25 years at Picton Cavanaugh Insurance where she specialized in employee benefits and medical malpractice. Kathy was beloved by many but none more than her many friends in the Women’s Insurance Association. She served many roles in the organization loving every minute of it and was twice honored as woman of the year in Ohio. Kathy’s other passions included her belief in Catholicism in which she was dedicated and devoted every day of her life. Kathy was an avid golfer and never let her husband forget that she had a hole in one playing at Kelley’s Plantation with their good friends Donna and Larry Benton.

She was preceded in death by her mother Angela, father Leo and brother Robert Sobczak.

Kathy is survived by her husband Larry Turley; children Todd and Tammy Turley, Traci and Ronnie Small; and her 4 beloved grandchildren, Connor, Hannah, Sydni and Taylor. In addition, she is survived by her sister Tina and nephews Alan and Jeffrey Podbielniak.

There will be a mass service in Tallahassee, Florida, on Wednesday, September, 21 10:30 am at Good Shepard Catholic Church. A memorial service in Toledo, Ohio will be announced later.
