

She was born May 11, 1999 and lived in Tallahassee. She graduated from Leon High School in 2018. Then went on to Lively Vocational School.
She was active in the Church of Latter Day Saints and Genesis Church in Tallahassee, Florida. She loved her time spent in the "Night to Shine" group for children with special needs. Kayla loved to cook, she loved all animals and her large group of friends. She also loved to sing and dance to Michael Jackson, Selena, Prince and Whitney Houston. She loved all things Disney and going to Disney World with her family and friends.
Kayla is survived by her mother Shannon Marie Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida, her father Omar Thompkins of Palm Coast, Florida. Her sister Lyric Hayes and step-father Patrick Hayes of Evergreen, Louisiana. Two brothers Jordan and Justyn Thompkins and sister MaKynleigh Thompkins of Palm Coast, Florida. Paternal grandmother Carolyn Thompkins of Deland, Florida, grandparents David and Patrice Tucker of Rockmart, Georgia. Uncle Chris and Aunt Saane Thompkins and children Chris, Jr., Lia, Alexi, Aaron, and Lincoln Kia of Fort Myers, Florida. Uncles Clay Jackson, Matthews Jackson and son Shane Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida. Aunt Amanda Watson of Bristol, Florida, Uncle R.J. and Aunt Kristina Kirkland Pasternak and son Gabriel of Marietta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Rick and Terry Jackson; great grandmother, Pearlean Taylor Gray - Kayla's much loved "Grammy".
After her service at Culley's on Riggins Road at 11am on the 17th of March, we will gather at Tom Brown Park for food and fellowship. Food and drinks will be provided, you are welcome to bring something.
