Kevin Peter DeCastro

Kevin was born on August 6, 1978, in Flemington, NJ, and quickly earned the nickname, Rocky, at his birth. His nickname would soon become how he lived his life – raising hell, doing things on his own terms, and earning a few scars.

As a child growing up, Kevin loved competing in BMX competitions, skateboarding, riding his quad, go-cart and dirt bike wildly throughout the neighborhood, and hanging with his friends (where he was frequently getting in trouble). He married his first wife, Darla Cuffe, in 1997 and had two children together: a daughter, Courtney, and son, Jacob. They relocated to Kansas in 2003, where Kevin would raise a little more hell. Kevin remarried in 2013 to Athena Reyna, and had one son, Vincent. Kevin worked for Kansas Building Supply as a laborer for several years before moving to Tallahassee, Florida in 2021, where he hoped to enjoy a second chance at life.

Most recently, Kevin loved taking hikes with his son, Vinny; going to the beach; and listening to music, which could often be heard playing late at night (loudly). He also enjoyed spending time with his partner, Robyn Price, who cared for him until his passing.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Peter. He is survived by his three children: daughter, Courtney DeCastro, and sons, Jacob DeCastro and Vincent DeCastro. He is also survived by his mother, Arlene DeCastro; and two sisters, Heather Strowd and husband, Jay; and Amanda Forsthoffer and husband, Scott. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service for Kevin will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308. Following the memorial service will be a catered reception from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
