
She had a deep love for her family and friends, always enjoyed being surrounded by people and socializing, and enjoyed playing cards with her bridge clubs.
She was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Washington, D.C. to Harry and Hazel Marshall, and grew up in Bainbridge, Ga. and graduated from Bainbridge High School. She was a pianist but gave up playing. She moved to Tallahassee in 1940 after marrying William "Bill" Snowden Jr.
She worked at Leon County Schools as a secretary at Kate Sullivan Elementary and Elizabeth Cobb Junior High and later at Childrens Home Society. She was in numerous clubs and organizations including Tallahassee Woman's Club, serving a term as president, the Tallahassee Garden Club. She and Bill were among the founding members of the St. Marks Yacht Club. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
After Bill's death in 1991, she was remarried in 1993 to John Hunt Sr., who preceded her in death in 2012.
Survivors include her sons, William A. Snowden III (Joan) of Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale, and Harry M. Snowden of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, William A. Snowden IV (Meredith) of Tallahassee, Lee Snowden (Liz) of Tallahassee, Dana Snowden of Atlanta, and Harry M. Snowden Jr. (Angie) of Tallahassee; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Drew, Zachary, Harper, Lily and Noah; her Hunt stepchildren, Jacqueline Kay (Jacque) Hunt, John E. Hunt Jr. (Linda), Geoffrey E. Hunt (Nancy), Richard T. Hunt (Maureen Shields), and Scott P. Hunt (Dottie); step-niece and nephew, Paul J. Hunt Jr. (Kerry) of Fernandina Beach and Debbie Hunt of Ormond Beach; step-grandchildren, John P. Sessions (Cecilia) of Hobe Sound, Amy Hunt Greubel (Rob) of Decator, Ga., Luewin Hunt Griffin, Susan Hunt Johnson (Derek), Jennifer Hunt Spolyar (Jeff) - Orlando, Matthew Hunt, Sarah Hunt (Roger), Vanessa Hunt Culpepper (Matt). Step great-grandchildren, John Michael Sessions (Alexia) - Delray Beach, Isla Griffin, Ella Greubel (Atlanta), Reagan and Andrew Spolyar (Orlando), Grady Culpepper, Ava Grace Culpepper, Olivia Kate Culpepper, Christopher and Bradley Sessions (Hobe Sound). And her beloved dog, Buddy.
Memorial services will be Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church followed by graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice.
