Leonard Cohen, age 93, died peacefully at Westminster Oaks on Friday, February 21st, 2020 in Tallahassee, FL. he was a resident of the Town of Wappingers, New York where he lived with his wife, Lucille J. Cohen who pre-deceased him on December 14th, 2019.
Born Leonard Cohen on June 9th, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Jack and Beatrice Cohen. He attended the prestigious Stuyvesant High School, and then went to Cornell University, College of Agriculture, Graduating in the class of 1947. Leonard met the woman of his dreams on a blind date and it was true love. They married on February 27th, 1949 and these two lovebirds would have been married for 71 years this month.
Leonard built a successful dairy and poultry farm in Wappingers Falls, New York and lived there until two years ago when they moved to Tallahassee. Prior to purchasing the farm, he taught young men to be farmers in Israel.
After farming for 20 years, Leonard became a Claims Adjuster for The State of New York until his retirement.
Leonard is survived by his children: Sanford Cohen, Rhonda August, and Audrey Elliot; their spouses, Annette, Richard, and Russ; his six grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
