Lisa was an amazing prek teacher. She had a heart for the little ones and gave them her all!!
She is missed.

Lisa was a really sweet person. She loved animals and kids. She was a most creative teacher and welcomed challenges. The world of education lost a kind soul and great teacher

I just heard the news today about Ms. Coonan. She truly touched the heart and lives of many people and especially my Granddaughter (Angel) at Apalachee.  We all loved her and will miss seeing her on campus. 

Lisa Wilcox Coonan was my friend from college at Truman State University (NMSU, at that time).  We shared mutual close friends, Kay Eckerle Ashton and Scott McKenna DO.  I am greatly saddened to hear of her passing. Lisa was a happy person, and had a delicate laugh!  I think of her curling her hair, getting ready to "go out " on Friday nights.  We would walk up town Kirksville to the disco music club for a fun time.  We reconnected on Facebook several years ago.  My sympathy to her family.  Carol McLain Hutchinson, DO   Tucson, AZ.

This so heartbreaking I can’t  believe what  I’m hearing is actually true, Mrs Coonan taught my son (kyion)  in pre K for two year’s over at  apalachee.  You will truly be missed on campus by that smile that brightens your day, and even hearing your sweet soft voice. You taught my son everything he needed to knw to move forward n I love you and thank you  for that .😘 We will miss you Mrs.Coonan 😢😭

So very sad to hear about the loss of Ms. Coonan! My now, 18-year-old, son was with her at Apalachee when he was 3-years-old in Apalachee's Pre-K program. After having such a delay in language and speech, my son was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum and Ms. Coonan was there with him from Day 1 until he graduated from Apalachee. He is now a upcoming senior at James S. Rickards High School and I would credit Ms. Coonan's love, support and encouragement as the reason he's been so successful over his Pre-K through 11 grade years! She was one of the teachers who built the foundation for his success! Rest in Love, Ms. Coonan! You will be missed!

My family was deeply saddened when we heard of Ms. Coonan's death. Ms. Coonan was  at Apalachee when my children started there over 13 years ago.  Both of them had the opportunity to interact with her as a resource teacher. We will miss her bright smile and always cheerful greeting.  Our sincere prayers go up for the family.   

I am so hurt by this news as Ms. Coonan has a special place in mine and my son’s heart. Ms. Coonan was my son Amir’s pre-k teacher for two years. I truly believe that she loved him and I know that my son loved her. He talked about her so much. She helped him grow in so many ways and I love and appreciate her for that. Amir will never have another teacher like her and she will truly be missed. Thank you for sharing her with us. Prayers of comfort and peace to the family.
