

Loren M. Fink, age 95 of Tallahassee FL went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on 2-11-15 as the music “Going Home” was playing in his room at Big Bend Hospice. He was born in Belmont, Nebraska on May 24th, 1919. He was married to Nina Fink and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before her death on Feb 6th, 2006. He retired from FSU where he worked as a machinist.
He was a B-17 waist gunner in WWII and was shot down in the second raid on the ball bearing plant in Schweinfurt on Oct 14, 1943. Loren spent 19 months as a German POW, and survived the Death March at the end of war - 86 days and over 600 miles.
Loren was survived by Lorene (Bunnie) and Darrel Heath, William (Bill) and Nancy Fink, Loretta Lewis and Ken and Robyn Fink. He also has 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 15 from 4:30-6:30pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 16 at 3:00 pm at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel, with interment in Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to either the Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Dr. Tallahassee, FL 32309 or Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd.
