

Maryanne K. Moore, 83 of Tallahassee, died peacefully May 24, 2014 at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee. Maryanne was born January 31, 1931 to John and Bertha (Cherney) Kotes and grew up in North Tarrytown, NY. Maryanne attended Pocantico Hills School and is a graduate of Washington Irving High School, Class of ’49 where she was class vice-president, year book editor and was listed on the class honor roll. She loved all kinds of nature and used her artistic abilities to design her garden in their backyard in Tallahassee. Maryanne is the wife of retired United States Air Force test pilot, Lt. Col. John Moore and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her two daughters, Amy (Jim) Warmke of Melrose, FL and Margaret Moore of Hypoluxo, FL; her son, Eric Moore of Kennesaw, GA; her nieces and nephews, Sue Docimo, Terri Halpin, John Kotes, Chris Kotes and Kurtis Kotes and also her cat, Bear. Memorial funeral services will be held 4:30 pm, Wednesday, May 28th at Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sleepy Hollow at a later date and interment will take place in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee or OCRF.org. for Ovarian Cancer Research.
