Maye Tullos Peabody

Maye Tullos Peabody, 89, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011.

Maye was born August 26, 1922 in D'Lo, Mississippi, the second child of Charles and Mattie Tullos. She grew up in Havana, Florida and moved to Tallahassee in 1947 when she married her husband Ben Peabody. Maye was a long time employee of the State of Florida. She was a member of the Pilot Club and the Garden Circle. She loved plants and flowers, butterflies, and the Florida State Seminoles.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Lee Tullos, her father, Charles Thomas Tullos, her husband of 49 years, Ben Lee Peabody, and her brother, C.W. Tullos.

Survivors include her two sisters, Anita Gray of Quincy, Florida and Julie Knight of Jackson, Mississippi; and her eight nieces and nephews, Linda Russell, Chip Gray, Lisa Griffith, Charles Tullos, Tommy Tullos, Jill Cox, Amy McCarty, and Abby Rowland; along with her many great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Culley's MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel in Tallahassee on Friday, December 16th. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, immediately followed by A Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM. The committal service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Havana, Florida at 1:30 PM in the afternoon. Memorials can be made to your charity of choice .
