
MITCHELL ROSS FRIEDBERG, 87, of Tallahassee, Florida, died Friday, January 27, 2012, at the Capital Regional Medical Center. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he graduated from high school there and then enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 18. He is a veteran of World War II and a war hero. His B17G was shot down over Germany and he was held in a Swiss internment camp. He escaped through occupied France with the help of the French underground to London. He also studied (and then later taught) watercolor painting. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverlee (nee Goldman) and his dear son Fred. He is survived by his son Michael (Kathryn) and three grandchildren: Ross Friedberg (of Seattle, WA), Lisa Friedberg (of Miami, FL) and Eric Friedberg (of Mesa, AZ). In addition, he had two step-grandchildren: Claire H. Holland and Benjamin D. Holland (both of Chicago, IL). After the passing of his wife Beverlee, he had the support and encouragement of many dedicated friends, including Peg Tuomisto, Christine Hall, Becky Bell, and Beverly Screws-Wilburn. A graveside service will be held At Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 4:00 pm. The family may receive online condolences at www.culleysmeadowwood.com .
