Paul David Luther

Paul David Luther, 42, of Tallahassee died peacefully Wednesday (03/28) at his home. Born in Orlando, he immediately moved to God’s country, Tallahassee. Other than a brief stint in Colorado, he spent his entire life in Tallahassee. Paul graduated from Godby High School in 1993 and continued his education at Florida State University. As a member of the Marching Chiefs, he helped celebrate FSU’s first National Championship in 1993.

After working as a vet tech, Paul found his specialty in computers. He went to work for DXC, a subcontractor for General Dynamics. He was a system administrator and desktop engineer focused on desktop and servers, but at home Paul enjoyed building virtual cities and theme parks on his computer. Paul was a York Rite Mason and a member of Wellborn Masonic Lodge No 13, F & AM.

In 2010, Paul met the love of his life, Jennifer. Under the Summerbrooke fireworks in 2011, Paul proposed and Jennifer said “Yes!” Married in April 2012, they were about to celebrate their 6th anniversary.

Paul happily served anyone in need, but particularly enjoyed being the family bouncer, and the protective uncle to his beautiful nieces. Paul loved cooking and baking, and perfected the art of both activities. Although Paul did not necessarily like “peopling”, everyone loved Paul. Known as a gentle giant, he loved giving the best bear hugs ever. Jennifer had always told her friends at a young age, she could live in a hug. For the last 8 years, Jennifer has lived in a hug.

If you knew Paul, you know he was devout in his faith. He posted a daily Bible verse on Facebook. Paul hated spiders, but loved all animals, especially his kitties! Paul enjoyed riding, whether it was his bike, or just getting in the truck and driving, without a destination in mind.

Survivors include: The love of his life, wife Jennifer; his mother and father: Mildred “Millie” and Harry Luther of Tallahassee; grandmother: Harriet Luther of Pittsburgh, PA; mother and father-in-law: Barbara and Dale Henderson of Tallahassee; sisters-in-law: Cathy (Chuck) Fair of Pace, FL, Michelle Henderson of Tallahassee; uncles: Arthur Morrison of Middleburg, FL, Frank (Glenda) of Bristol; aunts: Peggy (Eva) Luther of Salt Lake City, UT, Adeline Coenen and Bonnie (Bob) Prem both of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces: Cayla and Chloe Fair of Pace, FL; cousin: Elliott (Becky) Morrison of Woodville.

Funeral services will be at Northwoods Baptist Church on Thursday, April 5th. Visitation will begin at 3 PM until the service begins at 4 PM.
