

Paul Everett Pletcher, 57, of St. Marks , Fla. went to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, March 27th, with family members by his side. Paul had a fearless battle with recurring complications due to cancer. He touched the hearts of all those who administered his medical needs at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Paul was the son of the late Wm. F. Pletcher, Jr. and M. Bernice King Pletcher of Akron, Ohio. Paul was born on June 7, 1953, in Ravenna, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by his wife Molly Taylor Pletcher, of Bristol, Fla., and by his stepson, Charles Allen Reddick of Bristol.
He is survived by his step son Rex D. Reddick (and wife Laurie), of Bristol, his brothers, William F. Pletcher, III of Leavenworth, Kansas and Timothy K. Pletcher, of Boulder, Colorado; his sisters, Deborah C. Giuliani of Warwick, NY, Nancy L. Bergstresser of Grove City, Ohio, and Karen F. Fuller of Columbus, Ohio; his Fiance', Amy T. McCranie-Read of Wakulla; and nieces and nephews living in Florida, New York and Ohio.
As the son of a U.S. Army chaplain, Paul's early years were spent jumping across the United States. He attended college briefly in Colorado before settling in Pine Island, Florida in 1972. After attending school in construction and masonary, he opened his own business, Pletcher Construction. Most recently Paul was employed with Masonary Inc. located in Tallahassee. Paul is highly regarded for his quality workmenship and expertise. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and play golf when he was with his nephews. Paul was a paramount member of the St. Mark's Community, known well for his barbeque pulled pork and outdoor cookouts. Paul was a people person, always enjoying the company of family and friends. Paul is best remembered for his harty laugh, his bright smile and his frequent Phrase, " If you know what I'm sayin" and his heart of gold.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in St. Marks. Visitation will be on Friday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home 1737 Riggins Road from 2 to 4 pm and 5 to 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 2, 2011 at 10:00 am from Grace Lutheran Church 2919 Miccosukee Rd. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 pm at St. Marks Cemetery in St. Marks.
