

Peggy Ann Culbreth Williams went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 12, 2014. Peggy was born on January 15, 1931 in Morgan, Georgia. Her family moved from Georgia to Tallahassee in 1944 where she graduated from Leon High School. Attending a pool party at friend's house, she met a handsome young man named Cortez. Cort was immediately charmed by her sweet nature and beauty, and quickly realized the potential blessing of spending his life with her. On October 26, 2013, they celebrated 65 years of living, working and enjoying life side by side.
Peggy and Cort were co-owners of Artistic Flowers where her creative touch and artistic talent contributed to countless Tallahassee occasions for 40 years. Since her retirement from the florist business in 1996, Peggy devoted her full attention to her home, church, family and friends. She was a volunteer at TMH and a member of East Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Myrtle Culbreth and her brother, Ray Culbreth. Peggy is survived by her husband, Harvey Cortez Williams of Tallahassee, daughter Brenda Williams of Tallahassee, son Dave (Angie) Williams of Opelika, Alabama and son Stan Williams of Gulf Breeze, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kate (Jason) Williams O'Quinn of Birmingham, Alabama, Cary Williams of Opelika, Alabama and Rick Williams of Gulf Breeze, Florida and other family members.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 pm at the Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel with services to follow at 2 pm. Reverend Dan Sowell officiating.
