

Dr. Robert Steven Braman, 82, of Tallahassee passed away August, 24, 2013 at Westminster Oaks Nursing Center. Dr. Braman was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1930. He was Professor Emeritus at the University of South Florida, after which he moved to Tallahassee. Dr. Braman retired from USF as a Chemistry Professor of 36 years. He was also a retired Lieutenant-Colonel from the Army Reserves where he served in military intelligence. Dr. Braman was a visiting professor at the Imperial College of London, University of Paris, University of Venice, and University of Campinas (Brazil). He was an Eagle Scout who later served as Scoutmaster of Tampa Troop 319 for many years. Dr. Braman was predeceased by his father Limer Braman and his mother, Irene Braman. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Braman of Tallahassee; his sons James Braman of Raleigh, NC and Robert Braman Jr. of Tallahassee; granddaughter, Sarah Braman of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Jim Braman of Baltimore, MD, Steven and Tyler Braman of Tallahassee; great grandson Adam Braman of Baltimore, MD; daughters-in-law Deborah Braman of Raleigh, NC and Debbie Braman of Tallahassee. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm, Thursday, September 5th, 2013 at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Linebaugh Avenue, Tampa, Florida, with internment to follow at Lutz Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Project of Tallahassee, 301 E Tharpe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303.
