

Rosemary Miles Cowie, 71 of Tallahassee, died Friday September 6, 2013 at her home with her family by her side after a brief battle with cancer . Rosemary was born November 28, 1941 in Chattahoochee, FL to Durant and Emma (Green) Miles and moved to Tallahassee in 1962. She attended FSU and enjoyed her time with Alpha Delta Phi Sorority. Rosemary was an avid artist who enjoyed painting and reading and also loved fishing with her family and friends at her cottage on Ochlockonee Bay. Her greatest joy though, was spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. Rosemary was united in marriage on July 14, 1962 to her husband, Preston who resides in Tallahassee. She is also survived by her son, David (Frankie) Cowie of Tallahassee; her daughter, Alyson (Sam) Lovingood of Johns Creek, GA; her brother, Dr. David (Janet) Miles of Tallahassee and her grandchildren, Preston, Max, Trammell and Sy Lovingood, Hunter & Stone Cowie and Chase & Sydney Hanselman. Rosemary is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Beth Hanselman. Memorial services will be held 2pm Monday at the Killearn United Methodist Church in Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Big Bend Hospice or to the Scleroderma Foundation in memory of Rosemary’s daughter, Mary Beth.
