Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1949, he spent his childhood in Miami, Florida. After earning his medical degree at the University of Miami, he completed his residency in Family Practice Medicine in Tallahassee.
Following his residency, he continued his education by specializing in Internal Medicine, with a subspecialty in Geriatric Medicine. He later returned to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a faculty member, shaping the next generation of physicians with his knowledge and compassion. He went on to serve with distinction at the Veterans Administration in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he cared for countless patients with commitment and kindness until his retirement in 2016.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Armour found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid bird watcher, a loyal football fan, and loved the companionship of his dogs. His gentle humor, steady presence, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Philip) Richman and Julie Armour; his grandchildren, Kaia, Peyton, Audrey, and Quinn; and his brothers, Robert (Kerry) and Jim Armour. His loyal chihuahua, Max, will remain in the family’s care, continuing to be cherished as he was by Dr. Armour.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the American Diabetes Association or the National Audubon Society.
