Ross Stokley Johnson Major USAF (Ret)

Ross S. Johnson died Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Tallahassee.

He was born June 5, 1928 in Pensacola, Florida. Ross served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Major. He then worked for the Florida Department of Commerce as a field tax auditor, retiring after 20 years of service.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Olive Johnson and by his brother, Edward Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Zina Johnson; his children, Bill Johnson (Maureen) of Parker, CO, Kaye Marconnet (Randy) of Tallahassee and Anne Groh ( Jon) of Orange Park, FL; six grandchildren, Shannon (Pete) Wilde of Parker, CO, Sean Johnson (Amber) Washington, DC, Jason Marconnet, Tallahassee, Brian Marconnet, Tallahassee, Jonathan Groh, Orange Park, FL, and Colleen Johnson Parker, CO; three great grandchildren; and his sister, Emily Johnson of Pensacola, FL.

Graveside service will be held Monday, August 27, 2012, at 3:00 PM in Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park , 700 Timberlane Road. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL 32308.
