Roy was born July 23,1941, in Toledo, Ohio.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 1:00 pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Chapel – 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL.
Roy was a hardcore Marine. He lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every minute he could. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed traveling, especially in the last ten years of his life. With his wife Cathy by his side, he was able to see all fifty states in his lifetime. In his travels he saw friends, family and places he dreamed of seeing, and doing things he always wanted to do.
He will forever be loved and remembered by his wife, Catherine (Willmarth) Burkett; daughters, Beth Lawson (Steve) of Opelika, Alabama and Jill M. Barfield – Feagin (David) of Albemarle, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susan Domanski of Toledo, Ohio and Molly Burkett of Toledo, Ohio; uncles, Walter Dieball (Jeanne) of Placentia, California and Frank Dieball of Maumee, Ohio; 9 nieces and nephews; 7 great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or other USMC organization.
