

Ruby Thompson Ranew, 90 of Tallahassee, died February 3, 2014 at Big Bend Hospice House. Ruby was born October 21, 1923 in Menominee, MI and moved to Tallahassee after World War II. Ruby is a WWII Navy Veteran and the last remaining charter member of Epiphany Lutheran Church of Tallahassee. She is retired from the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles with over 30 years of employment. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Samuel Ranew on December 20, 1976. She is survived by her son, Tom (Sue) Ranew of Port St. Lucie, FL; her daughter, Sharon (Gerald) Dyal of Tallahassee; her sisters, Idabelle Loewecke of Racine, WI and Sally Johnson and Judee Palladeau both of Menominee, MI; her grandchildren, Jessica (David) Schultz of Estero, FL and Trey (Mandi) Dyal of Tallahassee and her great-grandchildren, Jerry & Aubrie Dyal and Parker & Lennon Shchultz. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Friday at Epiphany Lutheran Church. Interment will take place in Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruby’s honor to Big Bend Hospice, Tallahassee or Epiphany Lutheran Church.Arrangements under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
